We had a great experience at this cozy yakitori restaurant- the ambience, food and service was amazing. I loved the fig and ham appetiser as well, and the chicken with leek dish was also delicious. Highly recommended and hope to be back next time

Came on a Friday night and almost all places were full. After wandering around restaurant after restaurant and eventually grew tired of asking for the availability of seats, I was grateful that the staff in Takaji welcomed me despite the crowd in their restaurant! The staff were very nice and friendly even though I didn’t make any reservation and was the only foreigner of the night. Nice appetisers to go with the draft beer and always a pleasant experience for charcoal grilled chicken!
We had food ordered to grill and already grills as well as foamed rice dishes. Everything was really really incredibly delicious. The owner and his son were the most happy and amazing people and we had nice conversations with them. This was our best food so far in Japan, can only recommend it!

The food was delicious. We had both chicken and duck, grilled and tempura fried as well as grilled and fried vegetables. Everything was delicious. The sake they recommended was tasty. We don't speak Japanese, but they were very accommodating. They had English menus online with a QR code to scan at the table, but Google translate in the menu also worked easily. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. It's 5 minutes from the train station. Definitely worth visiting in Kanazawa!
The best meal we had in Japan. The crab was incredible, the meat was delicious, and the shashimi was the best fish I've ever had, perfectly cut. An incredible experience, topped off by such friendly service. There is no doubt that I will return to Kanazawa just to eat there.

We came in quite late (21:55) and had excellent service. Our waiter was super kind and very considerate. We had a very nice meal, even though we only had about an hour of late dinner time. If you like chicken and cooking at the table, visit this place!
